Oskaloosa Solar Energy Systems Permitted

Zoning code 17.06.120 allows solar energy systems, their condensers, and energy storage as accessory uses provided they meet certain conditions. solar energy systems are considered an accessory use when attached to a structure, building integrated, freestanding, or otherwise integrated into existing permitted uses on a property. Additionally, code establishes that no accessory building shall damage adjacent property by obstructing views, inhibiting solar access, or hindering ventilation.

Zoning code 17.04.120 allows solar energy systems an accessory use for all zoning use types as a use permitted by right with the approval of a site plan.
