The city code defines green stormwater infrastructure as infrastructure constructed with a range of measures that use plant or soil systems, permeable pavement or other permeable surfaces or substrates, stormwater harvest and reuse, or landscaping to store, infiltrate, or evapotranspirate stormwater and reduce flows to the public storm drain system or to surface waters. These features are also sometimes referred to as low impact development (LID). The City Manager will encourage the use of green stormwater infrastructure to control the release of pollutants into the public storm drain system.
