Portland Sustainable Procurement Policy

This rule provides that the City’s Procurement Services division must develop and maintain a Sustainable Procurement Policy that directs action to understand and take responsibility for the environmental, social, and economic impacts of City Procurement decisions. The Sustainable Procurement Policy will establish certain baseline best practices for the City’s Procurement Services division to follow which include:

(1) Investing in on-site renewable energy technologies at applicable City-owned facilities as defined by the City’s Green Building Policy; and

(2) Ensuring architectural, engineering, and related design services deliverables incorporate City green building and green infrastructure policies and practices.
