Providence Zoning Code Encouraging Green Roofs, Blue Roofs, and White Roofs

Providence’s zoning ordinance for non-residential buildings encourages green roof, blue roof, and white roof designs. Reflective surfaces that produce glare are prohibited, except for solar panels or white roofs. In residential areas, green roofs and roof-mounted green stormwater infrastructure are permitted. Additionally, roof-mounted solar systems are excluded from building height calculation.
