Rio Rancho Requirements for Stormwater Drainage Plan Submittal to the City Engineer

This rule requires that requests the approval of construction, development, and/or platting proposals to the City Engineer shall include the degree of detail of the particular nature, location, and scope of the proposed development. One or more of the following levels of submittal may be required based on the following: (e) Stormwater quality design. A stormwater quality design includes a plan for stormwater quality treatment for the stormwater quality design volume, including the incorporation of design elements to manage the stormwater quality design volume on site, or the basis for requesting and the proposed method for alternative treatment options. The stormwater quality design should also address opportunities for the use of GI/LID practices, including, but not limited to, the use of rooftop discharge and passive water harvesting or other water conservation methods as permissibly allowed without water right by state water law and State Engineer interpretation. Stormwater quality designs are required for all grading, construction, development, and redevelopment projects with land disturbances equal to or greater than one acre, including sites which disturb less than one acre but are part of a larger common plan of development
