Saco, Maine Stormwater and Erosion Control Ordinance

Saco’s stormwater and erosion control ordinance establishes that all sites should be designed to minimize impervious surface area, with an emphasis on reducing parking areas. Low impact development strategies are recommended but not required for all projects. Any construction or reconstruction that will disturb one or more acres of land is subject to Maine’s State Stormwater Management Law.
