San Diego Urban Village Overlay Zone

San Diego’s Urban Village Overlay Zone provides regulations that allow for a greater variety of uses in order to reduce car dependence, improve air quality, and promote interactive neighborhoods. Urban Village areas must design the public right-of-way to provide for street trees adjacent to the curb in planting strips or tree grates.
