San Francisco Urban Forestry Ordinance

The San Francisco Urban Forestry Ordinance establishes an Urban Forestry Council to advise the city on tree management and creates a system for voluntary agreements on street tree maintenance between property owners, community groups, and the city. It also mandates that street tree removals be publicly announced and prohibits the removal or planting of street trees without a valid permit. Development projects must include one street tree for every 20 feet of street frontage.
