Sioux Falls Stormwater Drainage Fee

Sioux Falls’s Code of Ordinances § 51.102 established that the drainage fees paid to the city shall be kept in a separate fund to be known as the storm drainage fund. This fund shall be used to pay the cost of financing the operation, maintenance, or construction of the storm water drainage system. Additionally, § 51.118 states that the city shall recover 50% of the cost for the development of storm water drainage systems and regional detention facilities from all developing property.
