South Portland, Maine Solar Array Ordinance

South Portland’s Solar Array Ordinance establishes that roof-mounted solar systems are permitted in all zoning districts as long as owners obtain a building permit. These systems are regulated by height. Ground-mounted solar systems are permitted in only some districts and must be set back 100 feet from the street in residential districts.
