Sparks Landscaping Standards for Zoning Districts and Parking areas, Including Tree Planting Requirements

Sparks Zoning Code § 20.04.006 limits non-permeable surfaces in landscaping and requires that the minimum number of trees to be planted in the required landscape area is 1 tree per 300 square feet in the MF zoning district and one tree per 500 square feet in other zoning districts. AT least one shade tree shall be planted for each seven parking spaces for parking lots under 125 spaces in size. For those over 125 spaces, at least one shade tree shall be planted for each ten parking spaces.

Landscaping standards require that a surety bond is required if the landscaping is not satisfactorily installed at time of occupancy or when business license is requested.
