Spokane Shoreline Districts Design Standards (Porous pavement & Green infrastructure)

The code provides detailed guidelines for development within shoreline zones. Key aspects include regulations regarding visual and physical access to the shoreline, stormwater management through pervious materials and filtration techniques include permeable interlocking unit pavers, porous concrete, or porous asphalt, preservation of native trees and vegetation, and sustainable building design including green infrastructure. Site design encourages Low Impact Development (LID) techniques to retain existing trees and vegetation, impervious surface reduction, rain gardens, retention swales, permeable paving, green roofs, rain barrels, and downspout connections to planters.
