Spokane Urban Forestry Program

The chapter establishes the Spokane Urban Forestry Program which aims to achieve 30% city-wide tree canopy coverage by 2030. Managed within the Parks and Recreation Division, it regulates street tree maintenance, permits tree work, and promotes public education. The program also fosters citizen involvement via an advisory committee and partners with The Lands Council to plant free trees in underserved neighborhoods, equitably increasing canopy coverage.
