Valley City Small Solar Systems Regulations

Valley City permits “small solar energy systems” in all zoning districts, with some limitations. Freestanding solar panels are treated as accessory buildings and are subject to any applicable building codes. Panels on a sloped roof may not project above the peak of the roof, and panels on a flat roof may not project more than five feet above the roof.
