Wilmington Floodplain Standards

This rule establishes standards for the effective management of floodplains in Wilmington. The rule’s listed purposes include to “maintain natural drainage,” to “minimize the need for rescue and relief efforts associated with flooding and generally undertaken at the expense of the general public,” and to “reinforce that those who build in and occupy special flood hazard areas should assume responsibility for their actions.”
